Gene Miles

Marguerite “Gene” Miles is a Virginia native who has served in appointments to state agencies under Governors Warner and Kaine in the Virginia Business Education Partnership (2002-2003) and the Governor’s Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (2004-2010). Upon leaving GOSAP, she moved to the School of Education at VCU where she served as webmaster and data analyst for the Center for School-Community Collaboration until her retirement in April of 2021.

During the Presidential campaign of Jimmy Carter in 1976, Gene began volunteering with several political campaigns, and in 1978 she joined HCDC, eventually serving as the Three Chopt District Magisterial Chair. She served as Chair of the HCDC from 2000-2003 and was on the DPVA Central Committee until 2011.  Gene’s years of involvement make her the official historian of the HCDC.
