Volunteer on Election Day

We need Poll Greeters — can you help?

It is critically important to have a strong presence at the polls on Election Day. We need help to cover polling locations around Henrico County. Please consider taking a shift!

Volunteers are needed at each of Henrico’s precincts to:

  • Greet voters and pass out sample ballots
  • Help voters with problems and contact voter protection as needed
  • Assist disabled voters with curbside voting
  • Request voter turnout numbers from officers of election
  • Remove Democratic signs if you are last shift of the day

Here’s what you need to know about logistics…

  • Priority sign-up locations are listed in ALL CAPS. Please fill these sign-ups first.
  • Each spot has room for two volunteers, but before doubling-up, please sign up first for a location that does not have anyone else registered.
  • If you signed up as a floater, this just means you are “on call.” Although the floater shifts are longer, you will not necessarily be stationed somewhere that entire time. Duties will include ensuring poll greeters have their materials, filling in volunteer gaps, and other duties as they arise.
  • If you are the first volunteer of the day, you will be responsible for picking up the materials for that precinct at a day/time/location TBD.
  • Training FAQs will be provided to all volunteers before Election Day on November 2.
